Added to this there are the problems of a lack of trained teachers, poorly trained teachers, lack of school furniture and resources, and gender inequality to name but a few.

In order to improve this situation the government of Tanzania is now committed to offering education for all in the coming years and also to ensuring that the education on offer is of an acceptable quality. It is recognised by the government and the international community that Tanzania cannot realistically achieve these monumental tasks on its own and this is why organisations such as ours are vital to the success of these projects.

Article 2.0 Children Libraries Establishment

A library can be defined as a collection of books, sound recordings, films and videos, photographs, etc., organized for private or public consultation or borrowing.

The purpose of a library is to support the educational work of the community. This purpose is achieved in two ways: by providing the children with the means of finding whatever information they need; and by encouraging them in the habit of using books both for information and for pleasure. Everything in the library, and everything about the way it is organized, must be planned so as to help the children.
